What paper weights should be scored before folding?

Ampersand recommends that 100lb Coated Text and over be scored. We use Channel Scoring technology on our folders that allow us to provide a die quality score inline at high speeds, eliminating the need and cost of a die-score.

What are the advantages of scoring your stock prior to folding?

Scoring your sheet prior to folding helps prevent cracking when folding on print (especially blacks and other dark colours) and makes for a nice clean fold.
